About Tashkent Medical Academy

The Faculty of Medicine at Turkestan State University was established in 1919, marking the beginning of medical education in the region. By 1931, it became the Tashkent State Medical Institute, growing significantly through the mid-20th century, contributing to wartime medical efforts and expanding its faculties.

In 1990, the institute split into two—First and Second Tashkent State Medical Institutes—before merging again in 2005 to form the Tashkent Medical Academy. This transformation aimed to enhance medical education quality, research, and training. Today, the academy remains a leading institution in Uzbekistan, fostering global collaborations and producing skilled healthcare professionals.
